Since we have seen the new Autumn/Winter 2023 collection of the danish brand Baum and Pferdgarten we honestly can’t wait for winter to begin! AT Copenhagen Fashion Week the fashion Label Showed real must-haves for any tennis-Fan like chunky knit sweaters with tennisball-patterns, Stylish Tracksuits and a sparkling tennisball bag…
The designer duo Rikke Baumgarten und Helle Hestehave was inspired by Wes Anderson’s film “The Royal Tenenbaums”, in which Luke Wilson plays the former tennis star Richie Tenenbaum and Gwynth Paltrow stars as his wife Margot Tenenbaum. The influence that Wes Anderson’s films has had on the fashion world is well documented, as his precise colour palettes, memorable locations and intricate details are rich with inspiration. “The Royal Tenenbaums” has delivered outfit classics that are now timeless, such as Margot Tenenbaum’s long mink coat and tennis dress combination, Chas Tenenbaum’s red tracksuit and of course Richie Tenenbaum’s tennis-wear-made-formal look. Now Rikke Baumgarten und Helle Hestehave brought those iconic looks back to life in their Autumn/Winter 2023 collection called “The Royal Baumgartens” shown at Copenhagen Fashion Week.
The collection begins in a palette of scarlet red, white, rose pink and signature blue. As the season progresses, the colours become moodier and we see brown, grey, tie-dyed pastel green and black. Chas Tenenbaum’s recogniseable tracksuit is remade in a blue and white pinstripe; shown on a drapey cropped jacket and finished with a contrasting red badge embroidered with a set of tennis rackets and the Baum und Pferdgarten logo. Another reminiscence to tennis is a softly structured cropped blazer woven with an updated polka dot pattern, that remindes the viewer of tennis balls. An oversized grey knit sweater adorned with acid yellow tennis balls gives another homage to Richie Tenenbaum’s tennis career. Our favorite for making a big entrance at any tennis event is the metallic tennis ball bag – embellished with sparkling crystals! The collection will be available from autumn 2023 in Baum und Pferdgarten’s Copenhagen flagship store, online at baumundpferdgarten.com, and in selected department stores and retailers worldwide.
